Technology in Education Fall 2008 Program Updates

June 1, 2008: The Technology in Education faculty are pleased to announce a redesigned of program curriculum to incorporate new technologies and better prepare teachers for the 21st century classroom. The revised program consists of core courses providing a strong foundation in educational philosophy and instructional design, centering on technology integration and a focus on effective classroom technology integration. The total number of required semester hours does not change, but TIE students have expanded elective opportunities, which will focus on 21st century technology skill and Web 2.0 development. Additionally, the TIE program is expanding course deliver options by developing online versions of its classes to be launched in the Winter 2009 term.

TIE Listservs

Several listservs have been developed to enable communication among current students and among graduates of the TIE program. Students may enroll in a mailing list at http://listserv.nl.edu/archives/index.html where listservs have been set up for TIE non-cluster students (TIEATLARGE-L), cluster students (by cluster number), and TIE graduates (TIEGRADS-L). Simply enroll yourself in the appropriate list by filling out the online form. If and when you have an e-mail address change, simply leave the mailing list and re-join with your new e-mail address (see directions at http://listserv.nl.edu).
