The Technology in Education program received national recognition from the International Society for Technology in Education for meeting their Technology Facilitation standards.

Illinois State Board of Education
The Technology in Education program is also approved by the Illinois State Board of Education for meeting the Technology Specialist standards. Graduates of the program may receive certification as a technology specialist upon providing documentation that they hold an Illinois teaching certificate and that they have passed (1) the Illinois Test of Basic Skills; (2) the Assessment of Professional Teaching Skills (Special, K-12) Test; and (3) the Technology Specialist Content Area Test.
